MUTTON STEW

– SERVES 6 – COOK 70 mins – PREP 20 mins

 Ingredients:

  • Cooking oil
  • 1 ½ onions, chopped
  • 15ml Rajah All-in-one Curry Powder
  • 10ml Robertsons Steak & Chops Spice
  • 500g  RICH MEATS Mutton Stewing Pieces
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 250ml water
  • 1 Mutton Stock Cube
  • 30ml Minestrone Soup

 Method:

  • In a pot, heat oil and fry the chopped onion until browned
  • Add the Rajah All-in-One Curry Powder, Robertsons Steak & Chop Spice and tomatoes
  • Fry for about 2 minutes
  • Add the RICH MEATS Mutton Stewing Pieces to the same pot and fry until well browned
  • Add the potatoes, carrots, water and a Mutton Stock Cube
  • Stir well and allow to simmer with the lid on for approximately 45 minutes or until the meat is tender
  • Stir occasionally
  • Mix the Minestrone Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to form a smooth paste, add it to the pot and allow it to simmer for 5 minutes, or until the Stew has thickened
  • Serve with rice or sadza
